Shortening Algorithm

ODS tables will be named for their respective entities but some tables will take their names from user defined rule definitions (e.g. Product/Plan and Activity). Since Product / Plan and Activity tables in the ODS will be named for configured entities, it is possible for the user defined names to exceed the number of characters permitted. (including the '_VW' suffix and 'DS' Prefix). ODS limits the table name to 30 characters with abbreviations provided in ODS Schema. As part of initial setup, ODS schema comes with set of system defined abbreviations ( OIPA Key words ) with System Indicator as 'Y'. If new abbreviations are added in the system, then the System Indicator should be entered as 'N'.
